Jim Thornton, attorney at law, founded the Thornton Law Office, PLC in 2004, after
having worked in a private law firm, for a large insurance company, and finally for the
Iowa Insurance Division. Jim returned to private practice because he missed the
personal interaction with clients and the variety of challenges found in a general
practice setting.
Jim graduated from Iowa State University in 1994 and from Drake University's Law
School in 1997. He is a member of the Iowa Bar Association, National Association of
Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and is admitted to practice law in the State of Iowa
before both the state and federal courts.
